You can generally visit our Site without revealing any personally identifiable information about yourself. However, to subscribe to our newsletters, participate in a contest, request support, purchase products or submit ideas to the Site, we may invite you to contact us with questions or comments or request information or complete a profile or registration form. Due to the nature of some of these activities, we may collect personally identifiable information such as your name, e-mail address, age, device type and/or unique phone identifier and any other contact or personally identifiable information that you voluntarily transmit with your communications to us. When and if applicable, our third party payment processors may collect your credit card information or PayPal account information for billing purposes.  We may receive your name, email address and shipping address from our third party payment processors but we do not collect your credit card information or PayPal account information directly or store such billing information.

We may use your personally identifiable information to deliver newsletters that you have requested, register you for a contest and contact you with respect to the contest, provide you with information you have requested, provide you with support, deliver certain products you have purchased and to improve the content and general administration of the Site and our products.

Children’s Privacy

Bolt Creative recognizes the privacy interests of children and we encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children’s online activities and interests. Bolt Creative does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 without first obtaining the parent’s consent or other than as described below in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act. Bolt Creative does not condition a child’s participation in any of our online activities on the disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in the activity.

When a child under the age of 13 asks to receive our newsletter, the child will be asked for the email address of his or her parent. Within two business days of receiving this information, we send the child’s parent a notification email informing him or her of the child’s request to receive by email the Bolt Creative newsletter on an ongoing basis and give the parent the option to have his or her child’s information be removed from our Bolt Creative newsletter database. At any time after receiving this notification email, the child’s parent has the opportunity to exercise the option to request that we stop sending the child the Bolt Creative newsletter and have the child’s information removed from our Bolt Creative newsletter by following the “unsubscribe” instructions found in either their initial notification email or at the end of any of the Bolt Creative newsletter emails. In addition, parents may at any time review any identifiable information collected about their child (see below, Parental Access).  All information collected for Bolt Creative newsletters is used only to send the child the electronic newsletter.

Bolt Creative occasionally offers contests and sweepstakes, which may be entered online. To participate in a contest or sweepstakes, a child is asked to provide his or her first name and email address. Sometimes, when we conduct contests or sweepstakes that may involve more than a one-time contact, we ask additionally for the email address of his or her parent. In such types of contests or sweepstakes, we send the child’s parent an email within two business days informing him or her of the child’s entry and give the parent the option to have the child’s entry deleted. All the information collected by Bolt Creative is securely maintained and used only for the purpose of conducting the contest or sweepstakes. Once the contest or sweepstakes if finished, we then delete any personal information collected. The information collected in a Bolt Creative sweepstakes may be passed to a fulfillment house which may use the information to help run the contest or sweepstakes and may not use it for other purposes and has agreed to maintain the confidentiality of such information.

All information collected by Bolt Creative from children under the age of 18 for support inquiries will only be used to respond to the one-time support request and the child’s information will be deleted from Bolt Creative’s database after providing such response.

If a child under the age of 13 would like to submit a photo or fan art to Bolt Creative, Bolt Creative will require that the parent provide its prior written consent to the child’s submission of a photo or artwork or that the parent submits the picture or artwork on behalf of the child. You can find the permission form here: _______ and return to Bolt Creative by email or postal mail. By reviewing and submitting the permission form, you will have consented to the child entering a submission for potential inclusion on the Site and/or marketing materials.

Parental Access

At Bolt Creative, our goal is to help parents ensure that their kids have a safe and fun online experience. That’s why we’ve set up a system by which parents can print out and mail or fax us a signed form that allows them to review any identifiable information collected about their child, have this information deleted, and/or request that there be no further collection or use of their child’s information. Bolt Creative takes steps to verify the identity of anyone requesting information about a child and to ensure that the person is in fact the child’s parent or legal guardian.
